Is it the # 18?  The # 30?  The # 68?  What about the # 17!!! Ernie had originally requested the # 18 since that was the number of the ARCA car which he drove in 1991 when he competed in an ARCA car in Atlanta.  Unfortunately for us, the # 18 was already assigned to someone who plans to run the full schedule this year.  So, ARCA assigned the # 68 to Ernie Irvan Racing!

I know that everyone has seen the # 30 on the car in the pictures we've posted, and you've seen the # 30 and Mike's Hard Lemonade on the hauler in the pictures.  This is because the car we're racing was loaned to us by Innovative Motor Sports, and their sponsor is Mike's Hard Lemonade and they run the # 30.

As you can see from the current pictures, we will be racing the # 17.  This is because Ernie Irvan Racing is a new team and has no provisionals.  We're not concerned about making the race on speed.  However, if qualifying is rained out and ARCA sets the field based on car owner points from last year, we won't make it.  So, we have arranged with A. J. Hendrickson Motorsports (the # 17) to use their number for the race.  They are 21 in owner points, so we don't have to worry now about rain.

So, if you're listening to the race on your local PRN radio station, listen for the # 17 for this race.  We have been told that the Speed Channel will broadcast the race on Monday, 3/11/02, at 8 pm.

We'll be racing the # 68 in any future races!!
